Animo Jackie Robinson Performs Romeo & Juliet

On March 8th ,9th, and 10th, Animo Jackie Robinson performed Romeo and Juliet thanks to the support of over 60 donors which contributed $3000 for supplies, props, and costumes to make this performance come to life.

On Wednesday March 7th, 2012, Sandy Russell's first grade went on their second field trip. They experienced the great outdoors on a guided hike through Franklin Park in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The Responsibly team had the pleasure of joining her and her students on the field trip which proved to be an amazing experience. The students were engaged and learned a lot about animals habitat, their diet, and how they adapt to their environment.

About Responsibly
Responsibly is a non-profit organization that helps teachers raise funds for educational experiences that inspire and motivate students beyond the classroom. Through crowd-funding and offline efforts, we connect the dots between individuals, corporations, the public sector, and the non-profit arena to make learning fun, and applicable.

 

Why we are doing this
In April of 2011 we traveled 10,000 miles, visited 15 schools, and spoke with more than 50 educators nationwide in what we called the “Educate Responsibly Tour”. We did this in a 72 passenger, 1978 school bus that we converted into our mobile office and sleeping quarters. Our goal was to understand first-hand what plagued our educational system and how we could help.

 

Funding educational experiences
Responsibly has helped teachers supplement their curriculum with educational experiences all over America in cities like Los Angeles, Dallas, and New Orleans. Since we strongly believe in the importance of experience based learning, we focus on projects that fit four categories –Science, Technology, Field Trips, and the Arts.

 

Recent Developments
Responsibly.com is undergoing some changes to enhance user experience, donor participation, and community outreach. We have partnered with IndieGoGo, the leader in online crowd-funding, to help us increase our impact and technical capabilities.
